Hello, I am Senja
I am in love with the sea. It revitalizes and refreshes me. It calms me in times of stress. I feel exhilarated and connected to it when I surf its waves and I never tire of its myriad colours and changing moods. Vast, open skies, distant horizons, crashing waves and wild coastlines inspire me. Dawn and dusk are worth the extra effort to capture. Travelling extensively around Scotland in my camper van allows me to be near the elements and my subject matter, from sunsets in the west and dawns in the east, to the crashing waves of the north shore and all the wild coastlines between.
When I can’t be in, or by, the sea, I love to surround myself with ocean art, a chance to carry me back to that feeling of wellbeing. This is what I want to share with you – my adventures and dreams of the ocean…
Commissions
If you cannot find exactly the painting you would like, I am happy to consider a commission for you. I can work on any size, from miniature doll’s house paintings to several metres size. I believe strongly in access to original art for all, and would encourage you to get in touch if you have something in mind. The process is a fairly simple one and, as long as it is something which I would normally paint, no deposit is required and there is no obligation to buy if it does not fulfil your brief.
This removes the worrying part for you! Do you have a favourite spot, a location which brings back happy memories or a special occasion to mark? Commissions can provide a truly unique and personal gift. I have painted scenes using silver or gold for anniversaries, beaches where weddings have taken place, favourite surf spots and personal holiday destinations to name but a few. I’m very approachable and happy to discuss your ideas.
