This is a large, one metre square, painting – based on the smaller sketches and studies completed from my recent trip to Skye. It is the view across The Sound of Raasay towards Applecross on the mainland. I used a beautiful, bespoke box canvas which I had shipped up from London. It gives the peice a really solid feel and an exceptional finish, as all the edges of the frame have been hand sanded before the canvas was stretched over it. The painting itself wraps around the deep edge of the canvas for a clean, modern finish. It could, of course, be framed if you wished, however.
