Wild Weather, Loch Portain, North Uist

This was the beautiful wee croft, on the right, which we stayed in during our visit. The neighbour in the left hand croft had a pet lamb which the girls enjoyed feeding from a bottle! The weather always seemed to get wilder as we made our way home at the end of each day – I’m not sure whether this was due to the time of day or the location of the croft! I painted this from a layby on the single track road on an evening when there was still enough sunlight to make the loch water sparkle against the dark, peaty land.
