This painting was inspired by some walkers at Glen Brittle in Skye. One of them was wearing a luminous orange anorak which was quite at odds with the dark mountain terrain – he obviously didn’t plan on getting lost! I made a small painting of the mountains on site – but saved the walkers for this subsequent larger composition.
