I painted this for my good friend, Bill. He was one of the kayakers on our expedition down The Grand Canyon in 2004. We rafted and kayaked down The Colorado River, miles away from civilisation. Each evening at camp Bill would find a quiet place to write his journal, reflecting upon the day’s journey. It is early evening and the last rays of sunshine light up the canyon wall in the distance. It is a very special place.
