Christmas is very much a time of rememberance and every year we celebrate the gift of a Christmas Tree from Hordaland County Council in Norway to the city of Edinburgh, in memory of the close association arising during the 2nd World War. The huge tree is erected high on The Mound, forming a central part of the capital’s decorations. The tree is lit in the traditional Norwegian style, with hundreds of bright white lights, and it can be easily seen from many central locations.
